Myrtle Busby Harrison, 88, of Poole Creek Road, Laurel, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 30th, 2009. She was of Baptist faith but attended Mill Creek Methodist Church. Her daughter, Sherry, took care of her. She loved the Lord, family, friends and loved ones. She loved flowers and working in the yard. She will be missed with a passion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Newt and Ethel Mae Davis Busby of Wayne County; Husband of 57 ½ years, Arthur L. Harrison in April 22, 1997; Brother, Floyd Busby and two baby brothers. She is survived by 4 children- 2 Sons, Sherman Earl (Wanda) Harrison of Laurel, James Troy (Beverly) Harrison of Laurel; 2 Daughters, Margaret (Eddie) Myrick of Sharon; Sherry Harrison and James Chancellor, Jr. of Laurel; 4 Brothers, Arthur Busby, Lester (Ruby) Busby, Fonda (Sherry) Busby, Paul (Bonnie) Busby, all of Waynesboro; 2 Sisters, Gladys McMichael, Alice (Mod) Overstreet, both of Waynesboro; 6 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 2 Step Great Grandchildren; Sister-in-law, Eva Busby. She has 3 special sisters-in-law on the Harrison side- Doris Harrison of Ovett, Violet Caldwell of Laurel and Gladys (Charles Ray) Blackledge of Gulfport; Special Grandson, Tony Harrison; 3 Special Friends, Harold and Gloria Byrd and Sue Chancellor of Laurel. Visitation for Mrs. Harrison is from 5PM to 9PM Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Friday from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro with Rev. Bill Myers and Rev. Gayle Pope officiating. Burial will be in the Shirley Cemetery in Wayne County. Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro is in charge of arrangements.
