Mrs. Susie Ann West, 73, of Buckatunna, MS passed from this life Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Greene County Hospital in Leakesville, MS. She was born in Washington County, AL on Monday, May 20, 1946 to Ernest Hollinghead and Viola Hollinghead. She was a member of Red Creek Church of God. Mrs. West is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Hollinghead; mother, Viola Hollinghead; 2 brothers, Harold Vance Hollinghead, Fred Hollinghead; sister, Ena Pearl Dearman. She is survived by her husband, Gaston "Gap" West, Buckatunna, MS; daughter, Ashley Carr (Joseph), Buckatunna, MS; 3 brothers, James Hollinghead, Waynesboro, MS, Daniel Hollinghead, Leakesville, MS, Ernest Hollinghead, Buckatunna, MS; 4 sisters, Velma Hollinghead, Millry, AL, Dolly Blount, Beat Four, MS, Diane Smith, Millry, AL, Betty Smith, LA; 3 grandchildren, Kaleb Gaston Carr, Zachary Joseph Carr, Annah Grace Carr. Visitation for Mrs. West will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Red Creek Church of God in Wayne County, MS with Rev. Steve Watts officiating. There will be a Lie-In-State at the church one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Red Creek Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
