Mr. Steven McLain, 62, of Laurel, MS passed from this life Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Care Center of Laurel in Laurel, MS. He was born in Jones County, MS on Friday, September 6, 1957 to Earnest McLain and Alzada Layton Powell. He worked as a Truck Driver for Tanner Construction. Mr. McLain is preceded in death by his father, Earnest McLain; mother, Alzada Powell; grandson, Jonathan Gregory McLain. He is survived by his 2 sons, Jason McLain of Wayne County, MS, Jeremy McLain (Natasha) of Waynesboro, MS; brother, Norman McLain of Wayne County, MS; 2 sisters, Linda Hall, Dianne Perry both of Jones County, MS; 7 grandchildren, Austin McLain, Matthew McLain, Shelby McLain, Blake McLain, Ashlynn McLain, Lily McLain, Ryan McLain; great grandson, Christian Allen McLain. Visitation for Mr. McLain will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Jerry Overstreet and Rev. Rickey Williams officiating. Interment will be in Mulberry Cemetery in Richton, MS.
