Mr. Rayford Gavin "Sonny" West, 77, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Friday, May 29, 2020 at his daughter's residence in Ellisville, MS. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Monday, September 28, 1942 to Gavin West and Josephine Walley West. He was a member of Coyt Baptist Church. He retired from the oil field as a driller and tool pusher. Mr. West is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise West; father, Gavin West; mother, Josephine West; 2 sisters, Reon Holyfield, Mildred Taylor. He is survived by his 2 sons, Rayford Keith West (Gabrielle), Laurel, MS, Duston Lavon West (Ronda), Rogers, AR; 2 daughters, Lucretia West Scarbrough (Bobby), Ellisville, MS, Sonya West Barefoot (Kyle), Laurel, MS; 2 brothers, Marlon West (Sarah), Clara, MS, Loran West (Maezell), Purvis, MS; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. Graveside Service for Mr. West will be held at 2:30 PM Monday, June 1, 2020 at Coyt Cemetery in Wayne County, MS with Rev. Colon Rowell officiating. Interment will be in Coyt Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
