Mary Elizabeth Mason

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Mason, 81, of Buckatunna, MS passed from this life Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Shubuta, MS on Thursday, April 6, 1939 to Earl Leslie Giles and Versie Davis Giles. She was a member of Philadelphus Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Mason is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Don Mason; father, Earl Leslie Giles; mother, Versie Giles; son, Leslie Devon Yates; five brothers, Nolton Giles, Mac Arthur Giles, Walter Earl Giles, Richard Leslie Giles, Herbert Devon Giles. She is survived by her son, Hubert Vance Yates (Charlene), Newport, AR; two daughters, Carolyn Denise Nugent (Kenneth Wesley), Nauvoo, AL, Tonya Elizabeth Mercer (Jerry Eugene), Buckatunna, MS; nine grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Jason Yates, Bud Giles, Sinclair Winburn, Tyler Coxwell, Austin Mason, and Michael Mason. Visitation for Mrs. Mason will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Shane Giles and Judge Charles Chapman officiating. Interment will be in Barrytown Cemetery in Gilbertown, AL. Mask and Social Distancing are required of those in attendance of services.
