Mary Alice (Howse) Mashburn

Mrs. Mary Alice (Howse) Mashburn, 91, of Buckatunna, MS passed from this life Monday, September 9, 2019 at Pine View Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, MS. She was better known by her great grandchildren as "Old Grannie". She was born in Buckatunna, MS on Sunday, January 22, 1928 to J. E. and Velma Grace Gorday Howse. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Chicora. She sang in the church choir for many years, taught Sunday school classes, and worked the Mission Programs. She loved her family and they loved her as well. Mrs. Mashburn is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Billy Wade Mashburn, Sr.; father, J. E. Howse; mother, Velma Howse; grandson, Mark Hutto; 2 sisters, Edwina Howse, Eulalie Howse Jones; 4 brothers, James Walter Howse, Paul Howse, Dan Howse, Infant Baby Brother Howse. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Sherri Bradley (Barkley), Millry, AL, Sharmain Hutto (Terry), Chicora, MS; 3 sons, Billy Mashburn, Jr., Chicora, MS, Fred Mashburn, Buckatunna, MS, George Mashburn, Buckatunna, MS; 4 sisters, Laura Mae Mashburn, Chicora, MS, Betty Edmond, Waynesboro, MS, Lola Campbell (David Lee), Buckatunna, MS, Sarah McCaffrey (Pat), Gulfport, MS; sister-in-law, Jo Benton, Waynesboro, MS; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Mashburn will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Chicora in Chicora, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Chicora in Chicora, MS with Rev. David Roberson and Rev. Mitchell Smith officiating. Interment will be in Chicora-Davis Cemetery in Chicora, MS.
