Mrs. Marjorie McCaa Porter, 85, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Sunday, February 2, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Waynesboro, MS on Sunday, January 6, 1935 to Joel V. "B" McCaa and Gertrude West McCaa. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro and The Higher Strivers Sunday School Class. Mrs. Marjorie graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in January, 1955. She worked as a 1st Grade Teacher for the Wayne County School District until she retired after teaching for 30 years. She was a Charter Member of the Junior Auxiliary and member of the Present-Day Club. Mrs. Porter is preceded in death by her father, Joel V. "B" McCaa; mother, Gertrude West McCaa; daughter, Jami McCaa Porter; brother, Joel West McCaa; sister, Jacquelin McCaa Brown. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, James A. Porter, Waynesboro, MS; son, David Joel Porter (Sabrina Ross Porter), Waynesboro, MS; grandson, Dr. David Andrew Porter (Lyn), Biloxi, MS; great grandson, David Camp Porter. Visitation for Mrs. Porter will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hill officiating. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Rev. Ron Stanley, Tom Becton, Keith Stanley, Andrew Porter, Buddy Douglas, William Brown. Honorary Pallbearers are Bob Cooley, Ronnie Brewer, James Odom, Mike McCaa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Feeding the Seniors or the Alzheimer's Association.
