Mrs. Linda Carol Smith, 70, of Richton, MS passed from this life Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Canon Hospice in Gulfport, MS. She was born in Waynesboro, MS on Thursday, July 21, 1949 to Sam Pitts and Willie Mae Pitts. She was a member of Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church.  She had worked as a Medical Records Clerk at Wayne General Hospital. Mrs. Linda Carol is preceded in death by her husband, James Hardy Smith; father, Sam Pitts; mother, Willie Mae Pitts; 2 brothers, Bill Pitts, Pete Pitts; sister,Otha Mae Edwards. She is survived by her son, Joey Smith, Cross City, FL; daughter, Autumn Smith, Waynesboro, MS; brother, William Pitts (Sandra), Richton, MS; 2 sisters, Ellen Daw, Richton, MS, Marian Valentine, Cross City, FL; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Waynesboro, MS, Brinkley Henderson, Richton, MS; great-grandson, Kaelen Davis, Waynesboro, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Linda Carol will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Aubrey Cook  and Rev. Norman Nowell officiating. Interment will be in Mulberry Cemetery in Richton, MS. Pallbearers are Matthew Cochran, Thomas Valentine, Chris Pitts, Kevin Pitts, Joe Beech, William Pitts.
