Mr. Joseph Harry Vaughn, 74, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Wayne General Hospital. He was born in Baltimore, MD on Monday, October 21, 1946 to Frank Alexander, Sr. and Katherine Alexander. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mr. Vaughn served in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era where he received the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He had worked as a Vice-President at Rutland Lumber Company. Mr. Vaughn is preceded in death by his father, Frank Alexander, Sr.; mother, Katherine Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Vaughn, Waynesboro, MS; son, James Vaughn, Meridian, MS; daughter, Becca Vaughn, Waynesboro, MS; two brothers, Louis Alexander, South Carolina, Roger Driggers (Julie), Bermuda; two sisters, Aletha James, Winnie Alexander; three grandchildren, Maddilinn Philyaw, Waynesboro, MS, Elissa Vaughn, Newton, MS; Megan Ingram, San Antonio, TX. Other extended family includes Scot Soetaert (Kristen), State Line, MS, Melanie DaWalt (Floyd), Waynesboro, MS, Rylee McCarty, San Antonio, TX, Cathy Crisp, South Carolina, Sherry Seegars, South Carolina, Trent Philyaw, Waynesboro, MS. A Rosary Service for Mr. Vaughn will be held at 5:00 PM Saturday, February 20,2021 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Visitation will follow the Rosary until 8:00 PM, Saturday, February 20, 2021 and from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 21, 2021 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 401 Mississippi Drive, Waynesboro, MS with Father Emmanuel Subaar officiating.
