Jennie Elizabeth Baygents DeLancey

Jennie Elizabeth Baygents DeLancey, a resident of Eufaula, Alabama passed away peacefully April 12, 2023, at Crowne Health Care in Eufaula. She was 84 years old.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Freeman Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Mississippi with Bro. Ricky Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Baygents-Dyess Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Freeman Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted.

Jennie was born November 2, 1938, in Waynesboro, Mississippi to the late Edward Rufus and Ersa Etta Hinton Baygents. She was a 1957 graduate of Waynesboro High School and was a manager in the restaurant-food service industry all her adult life. Jennie loved crocheting, making dolls and most of all her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis Earl Shirley; three sons, Steve Allen Shirley, Brian Keith Shirley, and Christopher Duane DeLancey; three brothers and three sisters.

Left to cherish her memories are two sons, Dennie Shirley (Carol) of Eufaula, Alabama, and Jerry DeLancey (LaNae) of Millbrook, Alabama; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Asked to serve as pallbearers are Michael Everitt, Hunter Cauley, Landon Shirley, Anthony McRae, Dale Parker, Jimmy Lee, and Shane Cooley.
