Mr. James Ernest Hartley, 95, of Copeland, AL passed from this life Thursday, February 28, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Copeland, AL on Sunday, March 25, 1923 to James Walter Hartley and Lucy Williams Hartley. He was a member of Lighthouse of Living Faith. He was retired as an operator at Ciba-Geigy Corporation. Mr. Hartley is preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Williams Hartley; father, James Walter Hartley; son, James Allen Hartley; son-in-law, Kenneth Turner; brother, James Daniel "Buddy" Hartley; 3 sisters, Ina Mae Heathcock, Wilma Heathcock, Yesta Brewer. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Maudie Vee Hartley, Millry, AL; 2 daughters, Lucy Delmarter (Ray), Millry, AL, Nelda Turner, Leeds, AL; daughter-in-law, Janice Hartley-Odom (Sonny), Saraland, AL; 4 sisters, Dean Richardson, Hobson, AL, Hester Beasley, Millry, AL, Barbara Brewer, Waynesboro, MS, Annie Jean Guy, Millry, AL; 6 grandchildren, Chris Hartley, Lisa Rutledge, Nicholas Delmarter, Derek Delmarter, Gregory Turner, Jeffrey Turner; 7 great grandchildren, Simone Delmarter, Cheyenne Coleman, Kenneth Turner, Kayden Turner, Ruston Delmarter, Bailey Rutledge, Tristan Rutledge. Visitation for Mr. Hartley will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Lighthouse of Living Faith in Millry, AL. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Lighthouse of Living Faith in Millry, AL with Rev. Ray Odom, Rev. Ronnie Morris, and Rev. Sonny Scarbrough officiating. Interment will be in Jones-Hill Cemetery in Millry, AL.
