Ernest "Bobby" Whittington, Jr.

Mr. Ernest "Bobby" Whittington, Jr., 88, of Collins, MS passed from this life Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the State Veterans Home in Collins. He was born in Crystal Springs, MS on Saturday, January 25, 1930 to Ernest Whittington and Lola Maude Whittington. He served in the U. S. Air Force and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired as Vice-President in the Seismograph Oilfield Services. Mr. Whittington is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Palmer Whittington; father, Ernest Whittington and mother, Lola Maude Whittington; son, David Whittington; brother, Jim Whittington; sisters, Vera Taylor, Shirley Izard. He is survived by 2 sons, Roger Whittington (Annette), Madison, MS, Jason Whittington (Alex), Houston, TX; brother, Ronnie Whittington, Florence, MS; sister, Martha Bates, Crystal Springs, MS; 4 grandchildren, Brandi Whittington, Robyn Whittington, Martin Whittington, Nina Whittington; great granddaughter, Francesca Petrucci. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 10, 2018 from the Graveside at Liberty Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Philip Rogers officiating.
