Emma Alice Sumrall

Mrs. Emma Alice Sumrall, 84, of Waynesboro, MS passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Providence Hospital in Mobile, AL. She was born in Waynesboro on Saturday, February 22, 1936 to Glover D. Jones and Ruby L. McRae Jones. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She retired from First State Bank after working there for many years as a Bookkeeper. Mrs. Sumrall is preceded in death by her husband, James G. Sumrall, Sr.; father, Glover Jones and mother, Ruby Jones; and son, Thomas M. Sumrall. She is survived by her son, James G. Sumrall, Jr. (Lana), Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Sheila Yarbrough (Al), Mobile, AL; 5 grandchildren, Erica Myrick (Jared), Austin Mack Sumrall, Mark West, Emily Logan, all of Waynesboro, MS; and Sonya Brondel, Austin, TX; and 7 Great Grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Sumrall will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Pavillion at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Sturdivant Road, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM Monday, November 23, 2020 under the Pavillion at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Terry Williams officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
