Charles Lewis Freeman, Jr.

On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, the bells in Heaven rang loudly calling Charles Lewis Freeman, Jr., 49, of Waynesboro, MS to his Heavenly Home. His life on Earth ended at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro. He was born at Wayne General Hospital on September 16, 1971 to Charles Lewis "Charlie" Freeman, Sr. and Elizabeth Pitts Freeman.

He graduated in 1990 with high honors from Wayne County High School in Waynesboro where he was elected Most Likely to Succeed. He continued his education at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville where he earned his Associate of Arts Degree. He then went on to the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in Medical Technology, Psychology, and Healthcare Administration and Education, all with honors. He then earned his Master of Science Degree in Community Counseling with honors at Mississippi State University. His greatest accomplishment in life was earning his Doctorate in Medical Psychology while living in Louisiana. 

He loved to read and do crossword puzzles just like his Dad. His favorite author was Nicholas Sparks; his favorite movie of all time was "The Wizard of Oz". He was an avid fan and supporter of The University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagle baseball and football programs. He loved to do volunteer work and fundraisers for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Charles Lewis "Charlie" Freeman, Sr.; Paternal Grandfather, J. W.  "Mutt" Freeman, Sr. and Paternal Grandmother, Frances Moss Freeman; Maternal Grandfather, John Lewis "Louie" Pitts and Maternal Grandmother, Inell Poore Pitts. He is survived by his Mother, Elizabeth Freeman, Waynesboro, MS; Brother, Allen Freeman, Waynesboro, MS; Two Nephews, John Freeman and Dyson Freeman, both of Waynesboro, MS.

Visitation for Charles will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Griffin and Rev. Mike Street officiating. Interment will be in Maynor Creek Cemetery.
