Mrs. Betty Louise Howse Edmond, 90, passed from this life Wednesday, September 8, 2021. She was born on Thursday, August 13, 1931 in the family home in Buckatunna to James Elmo Howse and Velma Grace Howse.

Betty Lou, as she was affectionately known to her family, was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Edmond; father, James Elmo Howse; mother, Velma Grace Howse; stepmother, Pansy Emmie Howse; three brothers, J. W. Howse, Malcolm Paul Howse, Daniel Henry Howse; three sisters, Eulalee Howse Jones, Laura Mae Howse Mashburn, Mary Alice Howse Mashburn.

Betty Lou is survived by her son, James Ellis Howse; granddaughter, Rachel Howse Binnington; two great grandchildren, Helena and Alexander Binnington; grandson, Jay Howse; great grandson Cash Howse; two sisters, Lola Grace Campbell, Sarah McCaffrey (Pat); and a large family of nieces and nephews.

She had a deep love for Wayne County and the Chickasawhay River. Making homemade jellies and canning any kind of vegetable was her hobby. Baking cookies for family was a way of showing her love and affection for them.  She loved to play the organ and piano and played occasionally for the nursing home in Waynesboro where she had resided for the past three years.
