Vernie Lee (Stevens) Pittman

Mrs. Vernie Lee Pittman, 91, of Clara, MS passed from this life Friday, July 20, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wayne County, MS on Friday, September 17, 1926 to John W. Stevens and Lydia Douglas Stevens. She was a member of Clara Church of God. Mrs. Pittman is preceded in death by her husband, Walker Pittman; mother, Lydia Stevens; father, John W. Stevens; daughter, Charlotte Hegwood; 5 brothers; 2 sisters; grandson, Kendall Burke; great granddaughter, Cara Leigh Britton; son-in-law, Terry Britton. She is survived by 2 sons, Eugene Pittman, Frankie Pittman (Priscilla) both of Clara, MS; 3 daughters, Glenda Burke (Donnie), Sheila Britton both of Clara, MS, Donna Mills (Tim) of Saraland, AL; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Pittman will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Saturday, July 21, 2018 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Clara Church of God, 227 Buckatunna Chicora Clara Road Waynesboro, MS 39367 with Rev. Arnold Amason, Rev. Floyd Mills, and Rev. Eddie Bean officiating. Interment will be in White House Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
