Mrs. Mary Louise "Mert" West, 74, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Wayne County, MS on Friday, January 28, 1944 to Cleveland A. Brown and Sarah Louise Giles Brown. She was a member of Coyt Baptist Church. She was retired as senior cashier at Wayne General Hospital. Mrs. West is preceded in death by her father, Cleveland A. Brown; mother, Sarah Louise Giles Brown; son, Scott Green. She is survived by her loving husband, Rayford G. "Sonny" West, Waynesboro, MS; 2 step sons, Rayford Keith West, Laurel, MS, Duston Lavon West, Rogers, AR; 2 step daughters, Lucretia West Scarbrough, Ellisville, MS, Sonya West Barefoot, Laurel, MS; 8 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. West will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, December 6, 2018 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 7, 2018 in the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Dewayne Crane and Rev. Bo Farrior officiating. Interment will be in Coyt Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
