Mr. Mallard C. Pugh, 79, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wayne County, MS on Sunday, April 28, 1940 to Vernon Pugh and Lillian Pugh. He served in the United States National Guard and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was retired as owner and operator of Universal Fire Extinguisher Company. Mr. Pugh is preceded in death by his wife, Lavon Pugh; father, Vernon Pugh; mother, Lillian Pugh; 5 brothers, Edward Pugh, William Singleton Pugh, George Pugh, J. Willard Pugh, Travis Pugh; 2 sisters, Flossie Mae Street, Colister Faye Trisler. Mr. Pugh is also preceded in death by a very close friend, companion, buddy, and side kick his beloved dog, Jacob. He is survived by his daughter, Nina Graham (Daniel) of Ovett, MS; 2 sons, Steve Pugh (Grace), Kelly Pugh (Karlyn) both of Laurel, MS; sister, Wilda Rae Jones of Millry, AL; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver, Jo Suthoff. Serving as pallbearers are Jerry Glenn Dykes, Michael New, Charles Chapman, Andrew Chapman, Eric Pugh, and Zack New. Visitation for Mr. Pugh will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, June 7, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Thomas Cochran and Rev. Fred Wiley officiating. Interment will be in Boyles Chapel Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
