Jerry Wayne Walker Obituary

Mr. Jerry Wayne Walker, 72, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life on Friday, August 17, 2018 at his home in Waynesboro. He was born in Quitman, MS on Sunday, June 9, 1946 to Cecil Walker and Ouida Davis Walker. 

Mr. Walker was retired from the oilfield industry.  He was passionate about fishing, and he loved to spend his day fishing on the Chickasawhay River.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed historical fiction.  Mr. Walker was a talented craftsman, and he enjoyed wood carving and making jewelry, knives, and fishing lures.

Mr. Walker is proceeded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ouida Walker.  He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Mary Anne Walker, Waynesboro, MS; his daughter, Samantha Dickinson (Mike), Petal, MS, and his granddaughter, Parker Anne Dickinson.

A graveside service for Mr. Walker will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 10am at New Hope United Methodist Church in Wayne County, MS with Pastor John Cockeell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Walker’s family requests donations be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.  You may donate online or make checks payable to: Alzheimer’s Association – Mississippi Chapter P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011.
