Mrs. Elsie Sumrall Gatlin, 71, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Friday, April 27, 2018 at Pine View Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Waynesboro, MS on Saturday, February 22, 1947 to Rev. Roan Sumrall and Jessie Mae Sumrall. She worked as a Cafeteria Worker for the Wayne County Public School System. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Mrs. Gatlin is preceded in death by her mother, Jessie Mae Sumrall; father, Rev. Roan Sumrall; daughter, Roxanne Elaine Gatlin; 2 sisters, Martha Jones, Elaine Ingram. She is survived by 2 daughters, Terri Brown (Glenn), Waynesboro, MS, Carla Perkins (William), Hattiesburg, MS; 2 granddaughters, Braelyn Smith, Waynesboro, MS, Mekennah Perkins, Hattiesburg, MS; Ollie Gatlin, Jr., Shubuta, MS; 5 brothers, Martin Sumrall, Waynesboro, MS, James Sumrall, Wiggins, MS, Samuel Sumrall, Waynesboro, MS, Shelton Sumrall, Crestview, FL, David Sumrall, Clara, MS; 2 sisters, Charlotte Yelverton, Ellisville, MS, Olivia Carney, Waynesboro, MS; several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Gatlin will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Saturday, April 28, 2018 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 29, 2018 in the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Phillip Gandy, Rev. Blake McCain, and Rev. Philip Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
