Mr. Benz McCoy, 67, of Hattiesburg, MS passed from this life Friday, May 11, 2018 in Shubuta, MS. He was born in Shubuta, MS on Monday, August 28, 1950 to H. E. McCoy, Jr. and Edna McCoy Fike. Mr. McCoy served in the United States Army. He worked as a Mill Wright at Georgia-Pacific and was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church of Houston, TX. Mr. McCoy is preceded in death by his father, H. E. McCoy, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Janis McCoy, Hattiesburg, MS; mother, Edna McCoy Fike, Ripley, MS; 2 sons, Randy McCoy, Portland, OR, Dylan McCoy, Houston, TX; daughter, Ashley McCoy, Hattiesburg, MS; 2 brothers, Greg McCoy, Sevierville, TN, Kyle McCoy, Hattiesburg, MS; sister, Sarah McCoy James, Ripley, MS; 2 grandchildren, Chloe McCoy, Gulfport, MS, Olivia Odom, Hattiesburg, MS; 2 great grandchildren, Aria Furr, Evie Furr both of Gulfport, MS. Visitation for Mr. McCoy will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, May 14, 2018 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 14, 2018 in the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Brian Alexander officiating. Interment will be in Clear Creek Cemetery in Shubuta, MS.
