Mr. William "Bill" Stanley , 82, of Shubuta, MS passed from this life Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Wayne County on Sunday, Septemeber 3, 1933 to William Elmo and Effie Stanley. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a businessman and a farmer. Mr. Stanley is preceded in death by his father, William Elmo Stanley and mother, Effie Stanley; brothers, Huey Stanley and David Stanley, step-grandson, T. J. Cooley; He is survived by his wife, Doris Stanley of Shubuta; son, Blake Stanley (Karen) of Shubuta; daughters, Brook McCarty (Steve) of Chatom, AL, Brandy James (Lawrence) of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Harrison Kelley, Annah Katherine Kleinpeter, Matthew Kelley, Caden Luke Kelley, Myles Kelley; step-grandchildren, Jarred McCarty, Megan Cooley, Alyssa James; great-granddaughter, Ansley Risen. Visitation for Mr. Stanley will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Clear Creek Cemetery with Rev. Fred Toomey officiating. Interment will be in Clear Creek Cemetery.
