Rudy Palmer

Mr. Rudy Palmer, 69, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Friday, August 25, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Waynesboro on Wednesday, June 9, 1954 to Jerry Glenn Palmer and Marcella Palmer. Rudy was a member and deacon of Free Will Fellowship Church in Waynesboro. He had retired from Johnson Oil Company where he was fondly known as Rudy Toot. He loved everybody and helped anyone he could. He was also known for his constant, warm and loving smile. Rudy is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Glenn Palmer and mother, Marcella Palmer; brother, John Paul Palmer; sisters, Charlotte Palmer Layton, Kimberly Hutcherson. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Kathy Palmer; sons, Shane Michael Palmer (Amy), Dallas, TX, Jason Williams (Jessica), Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Jamie Suzanne Palmer Gaston, Waynesboro, MS; brothers, Jerry Wayne Palmer, Gulfport, MS, Henry Oneal Palmer, Waynesboro, MS; sisters, Debbie Moody (Wendell), Richton, MS, Donna Herrin (Gene), Waynesboro, MS; grandchildren, Naomi Palmer, Darla Williams, Kaleigh Brook Gaston, Danielle Ashley Williams, Harley Rae Gaston, Kairi Keeton, Jacob Rudolph Williams, Zane Michael Palmer; and a bonus grandson, Daltan Walley of Laurel, MS. Visitation for Rudy will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 28, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Cherry and Rev. Bill Bankston officiating. Interment will be in Hiwannee Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are James Skinner, Daltan Walley, Kyle Courtney, Wendell Moody, Kevin Moody, David Palmer, Carl Moody. Rudy will be missed by everyone who knew him.
