Paul Lamar McCool

Mr. Paul Lamar McCool, 89, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at his residence in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in Attala County, MS on Friday, September 25, 1931 to Lathon McCool and Mable McCool. Mr. McCool served in the United States Army and United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He worked as a manager of Sunflower Food Store and owner/operator of McCool's Restaurant. Mr. McCool is preceded in death by his wife, Margie McCool; father, Lathon McCool; mother, Mable McCool; daughter, Kim McCool Gates; step son, Eddie Williamon; step daughter, Glenda Singley; four brothers, Jewel McCool, Gene McCool, James McCool, Tommy McCool; two sisters, Danny Mae Nicholais, Willie Mae Wood; grandson, Jeremy McCool; granddaughter, Atalee Eidson; step grandson, David Singley, Jr. He is survived by his two sons, Michael Lamar McCool and Mark Kadle McCool (Linda) both of Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Paula McCool, Waynesboro, MS; two brothers, Alton McCool (Sue), Kosciusko, MS and R. L. McCool, Louisville, MS; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. McCool will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Lake Park Cemetery, 2806 Emmy Drive, Laurel, MS 39440 with Chuck Hardee and Jeff Coats officiating. Interment will be in Lake Park Cemetery in Laurel, MS.
