Nathan A. Hicks

Mr. Nathan A. Hicks, 81, of Yellow Pine, AL passed from this life Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at his daughter's residence in Foley, AL. He was born in Yellow Pine, AL on Monday, September 19, 1938 to S. R. "Bud" Hicks and Jannie Cartwright Hicks. Mr. Hicks served his country for ten years in the United States Army. He was a Veteran of Vietnam and received the medal for Sharpshooter (Rifle). He worked as a tool pusher for Penrod Oil Company and after leaving the oil field he became a truck driver. Mr. Hicks is preceded in death by his father, S. R. "Bud" Hicks; mother, Jannie Cartwright Hicks; brother, Leo Hicks; 3 sisters, Edith Lollor, Alice Beasley, Mary Sue Dearmon. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Louise Simpson (Chris) of Foley, AL; sister, Pearlie Carpenter of Millry, AL; 4 grandchildren, Vivian Brianna Hicks, Bobby Roy Garland, Jr., Brooklynn Garland, Baylee Simpson; a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside Service for Mr. Hicks will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Yellow Pine Community Cemetery in Washington County, AL with Bro. Mitchel Beasley officiating. Interment will be in Yellow Pine Community Cemetery in Washington County, AL.
