Mrs. Marie Loper, 92, of Millry, AL passed from this life Sunday, January 3, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Crenshaw County, AL on Wednesday, December 12, 1928 to Maurice Stricklin and Evie Rena Bryan Stricklin. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was retired as store manager of Don's IGA in Millry, AL. Mrs. Loper is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. "Red" Loper, Sr.; father, Maurice Stricklin; mother, Evie Stricklin; three brothers, Maurice Stricklin, Jr., Lynn Stricklin, Perry Stricklin; three sisters, Penny Driggers, Adaline Godwin, Willene Burkette. She is survived by her beloved and devoted son, Thomas M. "Tommy" Loper (Tina), Millry, AL; sister, Bryanell Brown, Millry, AL; grandson, Thomas M. "Reese" Loper, III, Millry, AL; granddaughter, Callie Marie Loper, Millry, AL. Visitation for Mrs. Loper will be held from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Shady Grove Cemetery in Millry, AL. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Shady Grove Cemetery in Millry, AL with Rev. Ray Odom officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Millry, AL.
