Mrs. Maggie Laura "M. L." King Clanton, 96, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Lawrence County, MS on Monday, July 7, 1924 to Rev. Thomas Allen King and Lona Corine King. She was a dedicated member of Waynesboro First Baptist Church over 75 years. She was retired as an Office Secretary at Clanton Pest Control. Mrs. Clanton is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Clanton; father, Rev. Thomas Allen King; mother, Lona Corine King; brother, James Hardy King; sister, Edith Whigham; great grandchild, Cameron Stewart. She is survived by her son, Terry Clanton (Betty), Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Elaine Watkins (Bobby), Waynesboro, MS; four grandchildren, Shara Watkins Bowdoin, Brent Watkins (Krissy), Trevor Clanton, Chandler Chance (Kevin); eight great grandchildren, Caroline Watkins, Lauren Watkins, Courtlyn Clanton, Anna Watkins, Caleb Bowdoin, Lilly Watkins, Blakely Chance, Brynleigh Chance. Visitation for Mrs. Clanton will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Waynesboro First Baptist Church in Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Waynesboro First Baptist Church in Waynesboro, MS with Dr. Steve Smith and Rev. DeJuan Walley officiating. Interment will be in Waynesboro Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
