Katie Dee Runnels

Mrs. Katie Dee Runnels, 89, of Buckatunna, MS passed from this life Friday, January 1, 2021 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro. She was born in Washington County, AL on Wednesday, May 27, 1931 to Enoch Jones and Virgie Jones. She was a member of Progress Assembly of God Church.  She was a Homemaker. 

Mrs. Runnels is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver B. Runnels; father, Enoch Jones and mother, Virgie Jones; six brothers, Silas Jones, Cecil Jones, Wes Jones, Judson Jones,  Braswell Jones, Winfield Jones; five sisters, Liza Atchison, Vera Touchstone, Ada Dearman, Linnie V. McIlwain, Lillie Touchstone. She is survived by two sons, Clifton D. Runnels (Evelyn), Thomas Runnels (Debbie), Buckatunna, MS; five daughters, Barbara Ann Parvin, Hattiesburg, MS, Rose Bingham (Thomas), Buckatunna, MS, Katie Evelyn Britton (Creight), Waynebsoro, MS, Millie Runnels, Buckatunna, MS, Jerri Mashburn (Johnny), Buckatunna, MS; brother, Felix Jones, Waynesboro, MS; 14 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren. 

Visitation for Mrs. Runnels will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday, January 4, 2021 at Progress Assembly of God Church, 737 Denham Progress Road in Buckatunna. A Homegoing Service will follow at 12:00 PM Monday, January 4, 2021 at Progress Assembly of God Church with Rev. Matthew Runnels and Rev. John Brown officiating. Interment will be in Progress Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bryant Sumrall, Chance Sumrall, Kade Feather, Scott Runnels, Jamie Evans, and Lonnie Bingham. Honorary Pallbearers are Justin Lewis, Daniel Dees, Hunter Sullivan, Joseph Britton and Michael Britton.
