Mr. Joseph K. Barnett, 68, a resident of Waynesboro, MS died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born in Waynesboro on Monday, March 11, 1946 to Chester and Grace Barnett. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and was a self-employed Realtor/Appraiser at Barnett Appraisals. Mr. Barnett is survived by 2 sons Shane Barnett and Slade Barnett, both of Waynesboro; a special son, Jerrell Powe of Waynesboro; 2 brothers, James A. Barnett of Atlanta, GA, Gene Barnett of Waynesboro. Visitation for Mr. Barnett will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 25, 2014 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 401 Mississippi Drive, Waynesboro, MS with Dr. Steve Smith and Father Mike Thornton officiating. Interment will be in Waynesboro Cemetery.
