Mr. John Wesley Stevens, 79, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro. He was born in Waynesboro on Wednesday, September 21, 1938 to Wiley Wesley and Ethel Mae Stevens. He was a member of Southern Methodist Church and Strengthford Masonic Lodge. He was retired as a Truckdriver for Marshall Durbin. Mr. Stevens is preceded in death by his Father, Wiley Wesley Stevens and mother, Ethel Mae Stevens; sister, Norma Gene Stevens. He is survived by his wife, Jimmie Nell Stevens, Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Melissa Smith, Waynesboro, MS; son, John Edward Stevens (Shauntae), Waynesboro, MS; step-son, Jimmy Charles Warden (Jennifer), Webb, AL; 8 grandchildren, Brandon Smith (Brandi), Brittany Smith, Jonathan Shane Stevens, Lacee Stevens, Kalie Sierra Stevens, Kloie Santana Stevens, Chanston Jay Stevens; step grandchild, Makinley Gray Warden; 3 great-grandchildren, Bryson Smith, Conner Stroud, McKenlee Stroud. Visitation for Mr. Stevens will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at  11 AM, Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Davis and Rev. Rickey Williams officiating. Interment will be in Mozingo-Beard Cemetery, Wayne County, MS.
