George A. Whatley Obituary

Mr. George A. Whatley, 92, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Wayne General Hospital. He was born in Oil City, LA on Friday, September 28, 1928 to Willard V. Whatley and Mollie Mae Whatley. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. He was retired as a Field Gauger with Amerada Hess Oil Corporation. Mr. Whatley is preceded in death by his wife, June Reynolds Whatley; father, Willard V. Whatley; mother, Mollie Mae Whatley; son, Jack Whatley; three brothers, Russel Whatley, Raymond Whatley, Jack Whatley; four sisters, Virgie Womack, Dennis Womack, Dorothy Craig, Merle Wheeler. He is survived by his two sons, Jim Whatley, Waynesboro, MS, Billy Joe Whatley (Connie), Buckatunna, MS; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers are Chaise Whatley, Ross Graham, Jamie Whatley, Jackson Whatley, Dylan Scarbrough, and Dayvis McLeod. Honorary Pallbearers are Brayson Graham, Brody Whatley, and Kayne Graham. Visitation for Mr. Whatley will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery, Shubuta, MS. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Terry Williams officiating.
