Eunice Sanderson

Mrs. Eunice Sanderson, 91, of Waynesboro, MS, gained her wings on April 22, 2021, and went to be with our Heavenly Father. She was a remarkable woman and will be greatly missed by her family, but we know that she suffers no more. She has left us with the fondest memories and she lives in each of our hearts.

Eunice was preceded in death by her mother and father, O. G. and Alice Grigsby; one brother, Jay O. Grigsby; two sisters, Virgie Burgess and Mary Sides; her son, Dale Sanderson; her great grandson, Timber Sanderson and her husband, W. R. Sanderson.

She is survived by 6 children, 16 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren: Jay O. Phillips (Deborah Phillips, Ashley Phillips, Allyce Phillips, and 2 great grandchildren); Sue Walker (Tommy Walker, Sasha Duncan, Amy Daniels, Daniel Walker, and 5 great grandchildren); Jo Ann Davis (Tony Davis, Brandy Smith, and 2 great grandchildren); Joyce Bunch (Mike Bunch, Jessica Powe, Denice Bunch, Jason Bunch, and 3 great grandchildren); Nathan Sanderson (Christy Sanderson, Lauren Sanderson, Braden Hutter, MyKalia Hutter, and Gunner Harp); Kendall Sanderson (Terena Sanderson, Dallas Mosley, Kyle Sanderson, and Hunter Sanderson).

Eunice enjoyed being a Homemaker, cooking, fishing, working on the farm, and spending time with her kids and grandchildren. From the womb until today, she gave us so much life.

We remember the times that we spent with you and the funny “after” stories that we have to share. We will miss being able to reminisce with you and laugh with you but we will continue to share our stories and laugh knowing that you are with us in spirit and heart. We will never forget you. We will always have our memories and keep you in our hearts. You live in each of us. We want to thank you for being the mother, the grandmother, the great grandmother, the friend, and the straw that has held our family together.

Losing you has left us broken-hearted, and we have all shed so many tears and cried out so many times, but as our last respects to you, we would like to say that we will continue to push forward, continue being strong, and continue using what you have instilled in us because we know you would have it no other way.

Visitation for Mrs. Eunice will be held from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at West Shady Grove Baptist Church, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 24, 2021 at West Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ervin Mooney and Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Interment will be in West Shady Grove Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
