Mrs. Edna Muriel Thompson, 78, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Saturday, October 30, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Chunky, MS on Wednesday, February 24, 1943, to William Fred Loper and Rosie Nell Loper. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and New Orleans Saints. Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by husband, James H. Thompson; father, William Fred Loper; mother, Rosie Nell Loper; son, William Thompson; two brothers, Don Loper, Raymond Yates; three sisters, Peggy O'Berry, Linda Palmer, Patsy Holifield. She is survived by her son, Joseph Thompson of Waynesboro, MS; three daughters, Tammy White (Eric) of Waynesboro, MS, Jennifer Dixon (Michael Roy) of Millry, AL, Crystal Pearson (John) of State Line, MS; daughter-in-law, Cissy Thompson of Clara, MS; two sisters, Judy Lofton, Joyce Revette both of Waynesboro, MS; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; special grandchild, Addison Torrey. Visitation for Mrs. Thompson will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Mike Ainsworth, Rev. Mike Street, Rev. Bernie Fleming, and Rev. Mark Guy officiating. Interment will be in Corinth Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
