Mr. Ed Pitts, 75, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Wayne General Hospital. He was born in Waynesboro on Saturday, January 5, 1946 to Rev. Charlie Pitts and Annie Mae Pitts. He was a member of Maynor Creek Assembly of God Church. Mr. Ed served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was owner of Chevron Service Station for many years. He served as Wayne County Justice Court Judge for 12 years; he served on the Wayne County Board of Supervisors as Beat Four Supervisor for 8 years; and he was currently a member of the Wayne General Hospital Board of Trustees.
Mr. Ed is preceded in death by his father, Rev. Charlie Pitts and mother, Annie Mae Pitts; three brothers, W. C. Pitts, T. J. Pitts, Clayton Pitts; two sisters, Rachel Boyles and Ella Mae Boyles. He is survived by his wife, Linda R. Pitts, Waynesboro, MS; two sons, Arthur Douglas Rowell (Karen), Hattiesburg, MS, Woodie Lott (Claudia), Houston, TX; three daughters, Amy Freeman (Tony), Waynesboro, MS, Ashley Hinton (Brent), Richton, MS, Kim Hatten (Robbie), Houston, TX; two sisters, Myrtle Jean Shoemake, Laurel, MS, Norma Palmer (Paul), Laurel, MS; 8 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.
A private Graveside Service was held for Mr. Ed Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Maynor Creek Cemetery in Waynesboro with Rev. Marvin Griffin officiating.
