Charles "Roy" Cravey

Mr. Charles “Roy” Cravey, 75, passed from this life Saturday, January 20, 2024 in Waynesboro, MS. He was born on December 3, 1948 to Roy Carlie Cravey and Dorothy Cravey and was a life-long resident of Waynesboro, MS. Roy was a graduate of Wayne County High School and Mississippi State University with a B.S. in Computer Science. He was an owner-operator with C&C Food System (Hardee's restaurants) for over 40 years. In his earlier years, Roy served in the Air National Guard as an Air Traffic Controller and later as the Vice President of Great Southern Bank. He was an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for fishing, most often with his best friend Buck Powell.

Mr. Cravey is preceded in death by his father Roy Carlie Cravey, mother Dorothy Cravey, and his son Roy Carlie Cravey II. He is survived by: his wife Mrs. Elizabeth "Betsy" Karr-Cravey of  Waynesboro, MS; sister Sherry Impello (Ron) of Pensacola, FL; stepsons Kristopher Ryan Karr (Jennifer) of Austin, TX and Brian Heath Karr (Heather) of Vestavia, AL; three grandchildren: Clara Karr, Alex Karr, and Katelyn Karr; and extended family Ms. Linda Cravey of Waynesboro, MS. Serving as pallbearers will be Kris Karr, Brian Karr, Brian Clark, Robert Cooley, Malichi Sanders, and Darrell Williams.

Visitation for Mr. Cravey will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Freeman Funeral Home with Bob Norsworthy and Dr. Steven Bruns officiating. Interment will be in Waynesboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
