Carolyn Sue (Kelley) Tate

   Mrs. Carolyn Sue Tate, 80, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Brookwood Villa Personal Care Home in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Waynesboro, MS on Sunday, July 25, 1943, to the late Anderson "Yank" and Ethel Mae Kelley. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She retired as a bookkeeper at Central Hydraulic.

   Mrs. Tate is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Arthur Tate; parents, Anderson "Yank" and Ethel Mae Kelley; Son-In-Law, Samuel McCarty; sister, Rufus Jean Cooley; Brother-In-Law, Ulysses Cooley. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa McCarty; granddaughter, Chelsea Bedwell (Chase); great granddaughter, Landree Bedwell, all of Waynesboro, MS; two nephews, Roy Cooley (Cindy) and Ulysses "Babe" Cooley, Jr.

   Visitation for Mrs. Tate will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Kent Miller and Rev. Charles Burkes officiating. Interment will be in Arrington Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Timmy Roney, Jason Bedwell, Bryce Bedwell, Nick Contestabile, Timmy Kirby, and Byron Beck. The family would like to thank Renee Grimes and her staff at Brookwood Villa for their excellent care and the love shown to Mrs. Tate during her time there.
