Mrs. Betty Jean Lemley Booker, 93, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Brookwood Villa Personal Care Home in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Carrollton, MS on Sunday, February 9, 1930, to the late James Thomas Lemley and Dollie Ann Turner Lemley.
Betty worked for 25 years as a bookkeeper at Farmers Supply Co-op in Greenwood, MS and retired at 70 years of age. Betty and Ralph then moved to Waynesboro, MS to be close to their daughter and grandchildren. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in both Greenwood and Waynesboro, MS.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Denver Ralph Booker; parents, James Thomas Lemley and Dollie Ann Turner Lemley; two brothers, James Douglas Lemley, Buford L. Lemley; two sisters, Rebecca Jane Lemley Browning, Sarah Elizabeth Lemley McQuiston; grandson, Darrin Grant Law. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Booker Law (Don); two grandchildren, Lance Law (Mary), Paige Law Freeman (Samuel); five great grandchildren, Cade Law, Aiden Law, Logan Law, Peyton Freeman, Lemley Freeman.
Visitation for Betty will be held from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM, Friday, August 11, 2023, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 11, 2023, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Paul Harris officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, August 11, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton, MS with Rev. Joseph Sansing officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Waynesboro or Greenwood. Betty always donated to French Camp or Baptist Children's Village.
