Barbara S. (Shepherd) Sullivan

    Mrs. Barbara S. Sullivan, 91, of Pachuta, MS passed from this life Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at SAAD Hospice in Mobile, AL. She was born in Bayou La Batre, AL on Sunday, May 27, 1934, to the late J. B. and Cleo Shepherd. She was a member of Lighthouse of Praise Holiness Church in Mt. Vernon, AL. She retired as a pharmacy technician at Karts-Bestof.

   Mrs. Sullivan is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Burkett; parents, J. B. and Cleo Shepherd; daughter, Vivian Burkett; three sons, Billy Burkett, Terry Burkett, and Randy Burkett; four brothers, J. B. Shepherd, Jr., Wayne Shepherd, Darrell Shepherd, and Eugene Shepherd; six sisters, Pats, Faye, Betty, Deloris, Vivian, and Brenda; two grandsons, Nate Burkett and Wade Burkett; 4 great grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Thomas Burkett (Jennifer) of Pachuta, MS; Daughter-In-Law, Susan Burkett of Atmore, AL; sister, Rita Frickey of Slidell, LA; two Sisters-In-Law, Maggie Rivers and Mary Sue Weaver; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren. Special thanks to her Daughter-In-Law, Jennifer Burkett and grandchildren, Anna Danley (Chris) and Samantha Henderson (Logan) for their love and faithfulness in providing care for Mrs. Barbara for the past three years.

   A Graveside Service for Mrs. Sullivan will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Jones-Hill Cemetery in Millry, AL with Rev. John Dyess officiating. Interment will be in Jones-Hill Cemetery, 801 Copeland Buckatunna Road, Millry, AL 36558.
