Alwin Leroy Harris

Mr. Alwin Leroy Harris, 85, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Friday, March 12, 2021 at Wayne General Hospital. He was born in Missoula, MT on Sunday, January 12, 1936 to Lester Leroy Harris and Berniece Harris. He was a member of Clara United Methodist Church. He had worked as the Owner/Operator at Lakeview Motel. Mr. Harris is preceded in death by his father, Lester Leroy Harris; mother, Berniece Harris. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Harris, Waynesboro, MS; son, Chris Harris, Daphne, AL; two step-sons, Bo Beard (Delaine), Clara, MS, Mike Beard (Barbara), Vicksburg, MS; two daughters, Beth Cohen, Amy Wilkes, both of Asheville, NC; grandchild, Elizabeth Brown, Asheville, NC; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Mr. Harris will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Pavilion at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Sturdivant Road, Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Jesse Long, III officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
