Mr. Alton Guy, 85, of State Line, MS passed from this life Friday, August 18, 2023 at his residence in State Line, MS. He was born in State Line, MS on Thursday, August 4, 1938 to Earnest Guy and Mamie Myrtis Sullivan Guy. He was a member of Harvest Temple Church. He had worked as a Mechanic at Estabrook Ford Motor Company for 12 years. He later became self-employed as Alton Guy Logging. He served for 12 years on the board at Southeast Mississippi Livestock in Hattiesburg as Director for the Wayne County area. Mr. Alton was proud to have represented the Wayne County area in this capacity. He enjoyed selling watermelons, cattle farming and anything that involved associating with people. He always greeted everyone with a smile. Mr. Alton is preceded in death by his father, Earnest Guy and mother, Mamie Myrtis Sullivan Guy; brothers, Earnest Lee Guy, William Earnest Guy, Raybon Guy, Charles Clifton Guy; sisters, Lois Elmer Ezell, Lillie Marie Batley, Hazel Burnice Allday, Linda Doris Albritton. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great and even great-great grandfather; a man who was very proud of his family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Ell Kelley Guy, State Line, MS; sons, Alton Dwayne Guy (Paula D.), State Line, MS, Phillip Douglas Guy (Pamela), State Line, MS; daughter, Karen Guy Jordan (Carl), State Line, MS; brothers, Claude Douglas Guy, State Line, MS, Ronnie Stancel Guy, State Line, MS; sisters, Rosa Lee Yarbrough, Saraland, AL, Elizabeth Dennis, State Line, MS, Myrtis Alberta Dickinson, Citronelle, AL, Teresa Ann McLaughlin, Clara, MS; 8 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Visitation for Mr. Alton will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Harvest Temple Church, 111 Turner Street, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Harvest Temple Church with Rev. Edward Bean officiating. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery in State Line, MS. Pallbearers are Drake Guy, Dumas Milner, Joshua Guy, Joseph Guy, Jeremy Jordan, Daniel Jordan, Jacob Jordan, Josh Guy. Honorary Pallbearers are Dalton Rutledge, Chase Barnes.
