Dr. William Daniel Young, 88, of Millry, AL passed from this life Friday, August 1, 2025 at Wayne General Hospital. He was born in Texarkana, AR on Thursday, January 7, 1937 to William P. Young and Ethel Young. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro. Dr. Young honorably served for 27 years in both the United States Navy and the United States Army. A veteran of the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm, he was awarded the Bronze Star for his exemplary service. Following his distinguished military career, Dr. Young continued to serve his community as a General Surgeon, retiring from Wayne General Hospital. Dr. Young is preceded in death by his father, William P. Young; mother, Ethel Young; son, Ben Young; brother, John Young. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Young, Millry, AL; three sons, Dan Young (Carroll), TX; William Young, Daniel Young, both of Waynesboro, MS; five daughters, Laura Young, Madison, MS; Annie Young-Bridges (Jeff), Covington, LA, Flo Young, Arvada, CO, Jaime Hard (Ben), Sarasota, FL, Megan Young, Sarasota, FL; daughter-in-law, Olga Sanchez Solino, Spain; sister, Delcie Smith (Bill), Greenville, SC; 26 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two step sons, Austin Holyfield, Millry, AL, Justin Holyfield, Millry, AL; two step daughters, Cassie Carlisle (Scott), Toxey, AL, Callie Burford (Dusty), Bay Minette, AL. Visitation for  Dr. Young will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Waynesboro in Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Waynesboro in Waynesboro, MS with Dr. Steve Smith and Rev. Jason Sehon officiating. Interment will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
