Mr. William "Lance" Tate, 46, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Friday, March 10, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Wednesday, October 13, 1976 to William and Pat Tate. He was an avid Alabama fan. He graduated from Wayne Academy in 1995 where he played football and represented WA in the all-star football game in his senior year, basketball, and baseball. He went on to attended Jones Junior College and Delta State University where he played football for both schools. He enjoyed spending time outdoors mostly playing softball with his brother Josh and friends. His favorite thing to do on a daily basis was to spend time with his son Noah. He worked as a Pipe Fitter and became a Quality Control Manager at Westcon Inc. Lance is preceded in death by his father, William Tate; two brothers, Michael Blackburn, Russell Tate. He is survived by his mother, Pat Tate; son, Noah Aden Tate, both of Waynesboro, MS; two brothers, David Thornton (Melissa) of Buckatunna, MS, Joshua Tate (Aleshia) of Waynesboro, MS. Visitation for Lance will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday, March 13, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. John Brown officiating. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
