Mr. William Wendell Kirkland, 74, of Millry, AL passed from this life Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Washington County Hospital in Chatom, AL surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Wednesday, March 23, 1949 to the late Vinel V. Kirkland and Florie Kirkland. He was a devoted member of Flat Branch Assembly of God Church. He retired from Kirkland Timber, Inc. as Co-Owner, Operator and Truck Driver, "Cool". Mr. Kirkland is preceded in death by his parents, Vinel V. and Florie Kirkland; sister, Vivian Prather. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jean Kirkland of Millry, AL; two daughters, Ashley Mashburn (Chris Crager) of Buckatunna, MS, Wendy Martin (Michael) of Deer Park, AL; brother, Jimmy Kirkland (Carline); three sisters, Sara Dixon (Wesley), Cynthia Chestang, all of Millry, AL, Linda Lipps (Kevin) of Laurel, MS; grandson, Will Mashburn of Buckatunna, MS; granddaughter, Olivia Martin of Deer Park, AL. Visitation for Mr. Kirkland will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, June 2, 2023 at Flat Branch Assembly of God Church, 241 Sam Sullivan Road, Millry, AL 36558. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Flat Branch Assembly of God Church in Millry, AL with Rev. Jim Koen officiating. Interment will be in Flat Branch Cemetery in Millry, AL.
