Mr. William Clifford McCarty, 87, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Brookwood Villa Personal Care Home in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in Wayne County, MS on Saturday, June 17, 1939, to the late James Oscar McCarty and Velma Letha McCarty. He was a member of Little Rock Assembly of God Church. He retired as a self-employed contractor in the poultry industry. Mr. Clifford enjoyed being outdoors while gardening, hunting, and fishing. He loved his family, friends, and his church family.
Mr. McCarty is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara G. "Bobbie" McCarty; father, James Oscar McCarty; mother, Velma Letha McCarty; brother, James Floyd McCarty; three sisters, Louise Clifford, Inez Holifield, and Jettie McKee; great granddaughter, McKenzye McCarty. He is survived by his two sons, Craig McCarty (Vanessa) and Tillmon McCarty (Regina); daughter, Amanda Parker (Robert); brother, Travis McCarty, all of Waynesboro, MS; grandchildren, Matthew McCarty (Joslin), Ryan McCarty, Bridgette Jordan (Jeremy), Corey McCarty (Christy), Alex McCarty, Reggie Parker (Camille), Lakisha West (Robert), Brandi Freeman (Dustin), and Brianna Smith (Kaleb); 20 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. McCarty will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 4, 2026, at Little Rock Assembly of God Church, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Little Rock Assembly of God Church in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Ryan Powers, Rev. Jason Merritt, and Rev. Logan Overstreet officiating. Interment will be in Little Rock Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. The family would like to thank Renee Grimes and her staff at Brookwood Villa Personal Care Home for all their loving kindness and care given to their "Pawpaw" over the past year.
