Mr. William Joseph "Buckshot" Miller, 67, of Millry, AL passed from this life Thursday, December 22, 2022 at University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, AL. He was born in Birmingham, AL on Monday, August 22, 1955 to the late W. E. Miller and Patricia Ann Williams. He was a dedicated member of Copeland Assembly of God Church where he served as deacon, choir leader, and Sunday school teacher. He was a founding member of Copeland Volunteer Fire Department. He worked as a Toolpusher for RAPAD Drilling and retired as a Consultant with XTO. He enjoyed working in the garden and sharing his harvest with family and friends. His favorite pastimes were woodworking in his shop, fishing on the river, camping with his friends, and spending time with his family. Mr. Miller is preceded in death by parents, W. E. Miller and Patricia Ann Williams; grandparents, Earl and Ida Lee Miller; infant grandchild, "Baby Miller", two uncles, Prentice Miller, Arnette Miller; two aunts, Florence Miller, Pauline Harris. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Donna Renee Miller; son, William Stewart Miller (Amber); daughter, Kimberly Johnson (Jared), all of Millry, AL; two brothers, Paul Miller (Teresa) of Ellisville, MS, Glen Miller (Qwendolyn) of Pensacola, FL; two sisters, Kathleen Buckley (Sonny) of Buckatunna, MS, Brenda Overstreet of Waynesboro, MS; three grandchildren, Addison Miller, Brantley Johnson, Adalyn Johnson; uncle, Bill Ray Miller; aunt, Ida Mae Miller; special cousin, Peck Miller all of Millry, AL. Mr. Miller was also known as "Pops" to many foster grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Miller will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, December 26, 2022 at Copeland Assembly of God Church, Millry, AL. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 27, 2022 with a lie-in-state one hour prior to services at Copeland Assembly of God Church in Millry, AL with Rev. Ronnie Morris and Rev. Jimmie Butts officiating. Interment will be in Jones-Hill Cemetery in Millry, AL.
