Mr. William M. "Billy" Brasher, 73, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Clarksdale, MS on Thursday, October 13, 1949 to the late C. M. and Virginia (Horton) Brasher. He graduated from Delta State University with a degree in Marketing in 1971, and immediately joined the Mississippi National Guard where he served for 6 years. During this time, he worked at Ace Honda Sales with his family where he had worked during his college studies. It was here that he became an expert in motorcycles & was a very successful salesman. Later, Mr. Brasher & his family opened a Western Auto store, which eventually became Brasher's, Inc, a longstanding outdoor power equipment store and bicycle shop. In future years, he worked at various outdoor equipment businesses throughout the state of Mississippi and Tennessee, becoming a much-respected expert in that industry. He retired as an Area Sales Rep. at Grasshopper Manufacturing. Mr. Brasher is preceded in death by his parents, C. M. and Virginia (Horton) Brasher. He is survived by his son, Jess Brasher (Elsa) of Clinton, MS; daughter, Kate Brasher of Clara, MS; two sisters, Ann Garner (Louis) of Pelham, AL, & Cathy Middleton of Hernando, MS; eight grandchildren, Austin Brasher of Norfolk, VA, Christian Brasher of Clara, MS, Conner Brasher of Ridgeland, MS, Chloe Brasher of Clara, MS, Paxton Doty, & Anna Doty, both of Clinton, MS, Callie Brasher of Clara, MS, & Finley Brasher of Clinton, MS. Visitation for Mr. Brasher will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. A second memorial service will be held in December in Clarksdale, MS when his eldest grandson, Austin Brasher, returns from US Naval Duty.
