Mr. William Donald Beard passed peacefully in his sleep at his residence on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the age of 87. He was born and raised in Clara, MS. He was married to the love of his life, Billie Utsey Beard, for 68 years. Mr. Beard had a successful career as Owner/Operator of full-service stations for over 30 years. Beard's Exxon was the last full-service station in Wayne County. He was a hard worker who provided the best for his family. After retirement, he enjoyed being outdoors and fishing in his pond. Being a devoted husband and father, he was very affectionate who generously gave hugs and kisses and "I Love You's". He enjoyed humor, loved laughing, and had a wonderful smile. He is preceded in death by his father, Albert Beard; his mother, Elsie Beard; and one brother, Charles Beard. He is survived by his wife, Billie Beard, Clara, MS; one son, Randy Beard (Sharon), Clara, MS; two daughters, Lynn Mosley (Jerry), Waynesboro, MS, Phyllis Sumrall (David), Clara, MS; four grandchildren, Sierra Wade (Tom), Chad Beard (Mandy), Chase Sumrall (Katie), Hannah Berryman (Brad), all who affectionately called him Pawpaw; and five great grandchildren who loved their Big Pop. He is also survived by one brother, Grady Beard (Thelma), Clara, MS; two sisters, Marilyn Cain (Jerry), Plano, TX, and Kathy Johnson (Harold), Clara, MS. Visitation for Mr. Beard will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday, December 6, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 6, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Sehon officiating. Interment will be in White House Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chad Beard, Chase Sumrall, Tom Wade, Brad Berryman, David Sumrall, and Jerry Mosley. A special "Thank You" goes out to our dad's sitters, Vernettia Pough Kirksey, Erma Nobles, and Shanika Allen. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
