Mr. W. H. "Bill" Patterson, 79, of Shubuta, MS passed from this life Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Moss Point, MS on Wednesday, June 6, 1945, to the late Arthurine and Neville Patterson. He served in the United States Army and was posted at the Arlington National Cemetery as a member of the Old Guard. He retired as an Engineer for Schlumberger Oil Company. After retirement he went back to work as a Police Officer for the Mississippi Department of Corrections, Jones County Sherrif's Office, and Sandersville Police Department.

Mr. Patterson is preceded in death by his parents, Arthurine and Neville Patterson. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Billie Sue Patterson of Shubuta, MS; son, Chris Patterson of Midland, TX; two daughters, Audrey Patterson of Brunswick, GA and Emily Riley (Matthew) of Columbia, MS; two step daughters, Melinda Cochran (Woody) and Teressa D. Wooten, both of Waynesboro, MS; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; close friend, Bro. Steve Johnson.

Visitation for Mr. Patterson will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, March 21, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, March 21, 2025, at Boyles Chapel Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Thomas Cochran officiating. Interment will be in Boyles Chapel Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
