Mrs. Vivian Ann Thornton, 76, of Yellow Pine, AL passed from this life Thursday, January 4, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Yellow Pine, AL on Monday, June 16, 1947, to the late Billy and Helen Hare. She was a member of Yellow Pine Baptist Church.

Mrs. Thornton is preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Helen Hare; Daughter-In-Law, Tracey Thornton; brother, Paul Morris; sister, Virginia Riley. She is survived by  her loving husband of 60 years, Jackie L. Thornton of Yellow Pine, AL; three sons, Timothy Thornton (Maggie) of Yellow Pine, AL, Kenneth Thornton of Clara, MS, Anthony Thornton (Stephanie) of Chatom, AL; four brothers, James Hare, Lucedale of MS, John Dewey Hare of Tibbie, AL, Robert Lee Hare, Ricky Hare, both of Fruitdale, AL, three sisters, Janie Morris of Robertsdale, AL, Liz Price of Fruitdale, AL, Hannah Hare of Birmingham, AL; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Sullivan, Aladdin Thornton (Barbara), Tyler Thornton (Jeri), Dustin Mills (Jeanna), Cole Thornton (Amy), Austin Thornton (Catlin), Dominic Thornton (Allie), and Logan Thornton (Paige); 13 great grandchildren, Hunter, Ryder, Dallas, Bentley, Weston, Leland, Drake, Sarah Harper, Gunner, Chevy Chase, Ella, Maliyah, and Serinity.

Visitation for Mrs. Thornton will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 8, 2024, with a lie in state from 1:00 PM to 2 PM at Yellow Pine Baptist Church in Yellow Pine, AL with Rev. Wade Turner and Rev. Maurice Price officiating. Interment will be in Yellow Pine Community Cemetery in Washington County, AL.
