Mrs. Virginia "Jennie" Hayes, 74, of Bigbee, AL passed from this life Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Wayne General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mobile, AL on Thursday, November 27, 1947 to Edward Heathcock and Lena Nacie Stewart Heathcock. She was a member of Wesley Chapel Independent Holiness Church. She worked as an Elementary Teacher for 17 years at Millry School for the Washington County Board of Education. Mrs. Jennie is preceded in death by her father, Edward Heathcock; mother, Lena Nacie Stewart Heathcock. She is survived by her husband of 49 Years, Charles L. Hayes, Bigbee, AL; two sons, Charlie Hayes, Rev. Heath Hayes (Crissy), both of Bigbee, AL; daughter, Charlene Davis (Todd), Ellisville, MS; three sisters, Barbara Jones (Gene), Copeland, AL, Charlotte Beasley (Terry), Spanish Fort, AL, Diane Brown, Copeland, AL; six grandchildren, Juliana Hayes, Jesalyn Hayes, Conner Davis, Jordyn Hayes, Cooper Davis, Jackson Hayes. Visitation for Mrs. Jennie will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Heath Hayes, Rev. Kyle Morris, and Rev. Jimmie Butts officiating. Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Bigbee, AL.
